The pace of initial sales of the Nintendo Switch in the first 10 months made it the fastest-selling home gaming system in the United States, according to Nintendo.
From March to December 2017, more than 4.8 million Switches were sold in the United States. This is more than any other console. The previous record belongs to the Nintendo Wii, which sold just over 4 million copies in a similar time period.
About a third of all Nintendo Switch sales in the US were in December. In the last month of 2017, Americans purchased 1.5 million consoles.
