The App Store now recommends apps to users based on previous downloads and search history. Our colleagues from The ASO Project assume that this innovation will not affect the user experience, since individual content will not stand out.

No “Bug fixes”

In the update comments, vague comments can no longer be dispensed with. They say that the new build differs from the old one in that a couple of bugs have been fixed in it. Apple will make sure that developers actually describe what changes have been made to the game.

You can add emojis to the description

But now you can put various emojis in the description. When working with certain audiences, such an innovation can have a positive impact on ASO (but this is inaccurate).

Section “You may have missed”

A section will appear in the App Store where those applications that were previously installed will move. It is assumed that in it users will be able to see what was going on some time ago.

Blocking hidden background processes

In iOS 12, it will not be possible to launch hidden processes that go in the background when working with applications without the user’s permission. We are talking about both third-party advertising tools and services for tracking user actions.

Trial period

Any paid application without a subscription can now be distributed for free with a time limit. That is, it is not necessary to saw a separate free build of the game, which has an IAP offering to buy the full version. Now this can be done through a system that allows you, among other things, to configure how long the product or part of its functionality can be used for free.
