A showcase for video game broadcasts has appeared on the Odnoklassniki social network.

Одноклассники запустили собственную игровую витрину со стримами

The new social network service is not literally an analogue of Twitch or YouTube. It is built, first of all, not on working with streamers directly, but on aggregating content from partners, on relaying their content.

In other words, streams from sites specializing in streaming video are broadcast to Odnoklassniki. Now there are already such resources as GoodGame and GameShow among the official partners. Over time, their number will grow.

However, users have the opportunity to broadcast directly to Odnoklassniki. But at the moment, only groups have this opportunity. Private users do not have such functionality. But they will have it when a mobile application for video streaming is launched this summer,“ Anastasia Zhbanova, head of the Odnoklassniki press service, told us.

Also in the near future, Odnoklassniki plans to introduce a donation function to streamers. Users will have the opportunity to link their card directly to the service and receive money for it.

Now the possibility of introducing advertising in commercials is also being discussed, but for the first time it will definitely not be in the service. According to Anastasia, the connection of advertising will be discussed with each streamer individually.

If we talk about the showcase itself, it resembles a similar one from Twitch. On the main page you can find a list of the most popular gaming disciplines, as well as the top streams at the moment.

On the video viewing page, everything is also familiar – the left part of the screen is occupied by a stream, the right is a chat. Now, perhaps, the heading “Similar video” (in the lower right corner) is confusing, where videos from YouTube fall.

In general, the idea of a showcase at Odnoklassniki is bold and interesting, which is quite capable of increasing the attention of a young audience to the social network. The decision to position itself more as an aggregator of streams in the market already occupied by big players is also quite understandable and justified.
