The Odnoklassniki social network is now introducing five new features aimed at improving the monetization of games. What are these tools App2Top.ru told one of the representatives of the network.

The network is now launching several new features for game developers at once. She expects that each of them will allow developers to more effectively promote and monetize their games in OK. All these functions are already available for testing.

1) Promotions of games in the showcase

In the showcase of Odnoklassniki games, a separate block with titles will appear, which are currently holding promotions, discounts or sales. When you click on the game icon, a special post opens, where the terms of the promotion will be described in detail. The developer can inform the Odnoklassniki team about their promotions and sales via the API.

2) VIP status in games

Odnoklassniki has VIP status, which gives the user a number of tangible bonuses: cashback in games, packages of free gifts, stickers, etc. Many games have similar special statuses. A user of Odnoklassniki who has bought a VIP status of a social network will receive additional bonuses in the games he is interested in, and the developers will promote among the regularly paying audience. 3) Subscriptions to services in games

Thanks to this feature, developers will be able to offer in-game bonuses not on a one-time basis, but on a regular basis. For example, if the game has the option “endless lives for a week”, then the user will be able to subscribe to it, and the OKI for the option will be debited from the account once a week. Subscriptions allow you to bind the user even more to the game, while they affect not only money, but also retention.

The developer will be able to call the payment system method via the API with the parameter that this is a subscription.

4) AI-based recommendations

It is planned that the system based on BigData, expert recommendations and social demography will recommend games to users. This can be both a recommendation of new games and a feature. According to the social network, this will reduce the number of games recommended to the user, but at the same time increase the accuracy of recommendations and the return of players.

5) A new showcase for new players

New users come to Odnoklassniki, and for them the current showcase of games is very overloaded and not informative enough, which can scare them away. To make it easier for a beginner to choose a game, Classmates will form a separate selection of high-quality games. There will be fewer games in the showcase (about 20), but each of them will have more information so that the user immediately understands what this game is about even before he enters it. At the moment, the social network is testing the video banner format in the existing game showcase. Any developer can add a video banner in the settings of their application.
