Oculus has lowered the price of the Rift virtual reality helmet and Touch controllers.
A set of helmet and controllers now costs $598 (34,809 rubles at the current exchange rate), $200 cheaper than before. By buying parts of the VR system separately, the user will save $ 100 on each device.
“The high price is the main problem that pushes most users away from buying VR. The second reason is that so far there is a small amount of attractive content for virtual reality. By lowering the price of the Oculus Rift, we stimulate both buyers and developers,” said Jason Rubin, head of Oculus visual content division.
In Russia, the prices for the Oculus Rift virtual reality helmet, depending on the version and configuration, range from 34 to 55 thousand rubles.
