According to Bloomberg, Apple is preparing to introduce augmented reality (AR) into its ecosystem and plans to produce consumer-grade gadgets.

As proof, Bloomberg cites the words of Apple CEO Tim Cook, who said that in the future “we will all get the experience of interacting with AR technology, and it will become as commonplace as breakfast, lunch and dinner.”

And not only them: according to the sources of the publication, the corporation has assembled a team of employees who previously worked on Oculus and Microsoft Hololens projects. Apple has also acquired several startups related to AR peripherals, 3D games and virtual reality software.

The work on Apple’s AR projects was led by Mike Rockwell, who previously developed equipment and programs at Dolby and was engaged in his own AR startup.

Apple did not comment on these guesses.
