Since November, a little more than a dozen mobile games have appeared in the Netflix catalog. According to the Apptopia analytical platform, during this time their total downloads reached only 8.1 million.The most popular game for Netflix was the physical puzzle Teeter (Up), in which you need to control the platform and bring the ball into the hole in this way.

Since November last year, it has been downloaded about 820 thousand times.

As Apptopia notes, this is not a very good result, since large mobile publishers can achieve such indicators in just a few days after the release of the game.

In addition to Teeter (Up), the following games are now available on Netflix:

  • Arcanium: Rise of Akhan is a strategy card game from the indie studio Supercombo (the design of the cards themselves resembles Hearthstone), which is also available in early access on PC from December 2020;Krispee Street is a puzzle game in the genre of “hidden object” from Frosty Pop studio, based on the webcomic of the same name;
  • Knittens — classic match-3 puzzle from Timecode Games;
  • Dominoes Café — dominoes from Gazeus Games Studio;
  • Wonderputt Forever is a mini golf game from the studio of indie developer Reece Millidge, in which you need to throw the ball over various obstacles;
  • Asphalt Xtreme — a popular race from GameLoft has now become a Netflix exclusive, getting rid of microtransactions;
  • Bowling Ballers is another Frosty Pop game in the Netflix catalog, this time bowling;
  • Card Blas t is a puzzle game from Rogue Games in which you need to collect winning combinations of cards;
  • Shooting Hoops is a simple puzzle game from Frosty Pop, in which you need to score a basketball into the basket;
  • Stranger Things: 1984 is an adventure game with a top view based on the TV series of the same name, originally released by BonusXP studio in 2017;
  • Stranger Things 3: The Game is another game from BonusXP, the release of which was originally timed to coincide with the release of the third season of the series.
  • The schedule of downloads of mobile games for Netflix from November from November 7, 2021 to January 23, 2022

Apptopia does not disclose downloads of all titles individually.

However, in the graph above, you can see the decline in installations, which began at the end of November. Downloads usually increase slightly after new games are added, but the biggest spike was observed after the launch of the first projects.

In the test mode, the games on Netflix appeared in August last year. The full launch took place in November. All titles from the catalog are included in the subscription and are available without microtransactions and additional advertising.

However, users need to download games as separate apps in the App Store or Google Play. Thus, Netflix managed to circumvent the restrictions of the stores. As Apptopia notes, in this case, the service falls under the category of reading applications — it provides access to individual products and can bypass commissions for embedded payments.

So far, there are only two games on their own IP in the Netflix catalog. The rest of the titles are either exclusive projects or games from partner studios.

The company is now actively starting to develop relationships with third-party developers. In September, Netflix acquired Night School Studio, known for the mystical adventure game Oxenfree.
