Apple has denied some developers the placement of games and applications in the App Store due to the use of Apple branded emojis in the interface of their products. The reason for the refusal was also the emoji on the demo screenshots of the application page in the store.

This is reported by Emojipedia.

According to the company, Apple’s branded emojis in the interface of third-party applications violate its intellectual property right.

However, there are no specific explanations on the use of emojis in the official recommendations on the placement of programs in the App Store yet.

On the contrary, Emojipedia points out that in the guide for app developers, Apple gives advice on using its emojis in interfaces that contradict the company’s current policy.

Emojipedia has compiled its own list of tips on how to avoid conflict with Apple:

  • do not use Apple emoji as a logo or app icon;
  • do not use Apple emojis as sprites or other elements of game graphics;
  • don’t use Apple emojis as app interface elements;
  • do not create stickers similar in design to Apple emojis;
  • do not use Apple emoji to promote the app in stores.

So far, Apple’s bans have only affected small developers. They did not affect Snapchat and other popular apps.
