The founder of Xsolla, Alexander Agapitov, is no longer its CEO. His post was taken by Konstantin Golubitsky, who previously held the position of technical director of the company.
The news about the reshuffle was published by VentureBeat. It also noted that the new CEO plans to strengthen the company’s position in the video game commerce market and strengthen the corporate culture.
Xsolla does not specify what the management change is related to. However, perhaps this is a consequence of the personnel scandal that broke out in the company last summer.
Recall that in August, a letter from Alexander Agapitov to employees leaked to social networks. In it, he abruptly announced the dismissal of 150 employees. As it could be understood from the letter, the company monitored their activity and made a decision on dismissal based on the collected data.
Then the letter, the fact of collecting data on the activity of employees, and even the interpretation of this data caused a great resonance in the network. Moreover, the situation affected not only the Runet. It was actively discussed abroad.
Therefore, there is nothing surprising in the fact that VentureBeat journalists asked Golubitsky about what kind of work the company is currently doing with culture.
“At Xsolla, we realize that culture is very important for the company. We are working hard to ensure that it is transparent and fair. Our direct responsibility as top management is to support the teams as the company grows. In order to ensure the necessary level of transparency, we are working on the introduction of task—setting systems that will help everyone understand what needs to be done to succeed in the company,” Golubitsky replied.
Agapitov remains the owner of the company. He will also continue to be chairman of the board of directors of Xsolla. Now he is also engaged in the development of a startup X.LA , a business engine for web 3.
