We continue to publish the results of the salary survey by chapter, conducted from April to May 2023. This publication focuses on the income level of Russian-speaking game marketers.

We remind you that we are currently conducting a new salary survey. It aims to collect current data on salary situations among Russian-speaking and Russian professionals. You can participate here:

$2,848 is the average salary of a marketer in the Russian-speaking game industry. The median is $2,700.

Among those surveyed, the largest group of marketers earns between $3,000 and $3,500. This group accounts for almost a quarter of the specialists surveyed.

In fairness, in the range of "$1,000 to less than $3,500," all groups are almost equally represented, except for those earning "from $2,000 to less than $2,500." This can partly be explained by the significant salary differences between mid-level and high-level specialists (simply put, when promoted, the step from $2,000 to $2,500 is skipped, and the rate starts at $2,500).

Our research barely recorded marketers earning less than $1,000 in the market. They make up slightly less than 2%.

The distribution of Russian-speaking game marketers by country is heavily skewed away from Russia. A large number have left the country. Marketers with the highest income levels are in Cyprus, where their average salary approaches $5,000.

Linear marketers and ASO marketers earn the least, with an average salary of $2,300. Meanwhile, marketing analysts have the lowest median salary at $2,200. As for procurement specialists, their average rate is $2,700.

As mentioned above, the transition of marketers from the Middle to the Senior level is often accompanied by a significant rate increase (sometimes nearly up to 90%).

Methodology

The study is the result of the third salary survey among Russian-speaking representatives of the gaming industry. The survey was conducted by WN Media Group from April to May 2023 through voluntary questionnaires (participants independently filled out a freely distributed questionnaire with questions).

A total of 1,004 completed questionnaires were received. Of those, 61 were from marketers.
