We continue to publish the results of the salary survey chapter by chapter, conducted from April to May 2023. This current publication focuses on the income levels of Russian-speaking gaming top managers.

We remind you that we are currently conducting a new salary survey to collect up-to-date data on salary situations among Russian-speaking and Russian specialists. You can participate in it here:

The average salary for a top manager in the Russian-speaking gaming industry is $4,310, with a median of $3,700.

We asked respondents to indicate only their salary level. As such, any other forms of income were not considered here. Therefore, the actual average monthly income of top managers may be higher.

Almost a quarter of the top managers we surveyed reported salaries from $4,000 but less than $5,000.

Among Russian-speaking top managers of gaming companies, a few have monthly salaries exceeding $10,000. Quite a few also have salaries ranging from $7,000 but less than $8,000.

Most of the relocated Russian-speaking top managers of gaming companies are currently in Cyprus. The salary rates for managers who moved to the island are on average one and a half times higher than those who remained in Russia.

There are many specializations within the top management niche. We received the most responses from HR directors, company founders, and CEOs.

The sample of 40 questionnaires was too small given the significant diversity of specializations. Therefore, as in previous cases with specialization distribution by region and salary, we only included figures for which there was sufficient data.

What stood out: CEOs on average earn less than any other group. We also noticed significant variation between average and median values, indicating a wide range of sums. The smallest variation is among HR directors who, based on the median, generally earn even more than company founders.

Methodology

The study is the result of the third salary survey of Russian-speaking representatives in the gaming industry. The survey was conducted by WN Media Group from April to May 2023. It was carried out through voluntary questionnairing (users independently filled out a freely distributed questionnaire with questions).

A total of 1,004 completed questionnaires were received during the survey. Of these, 39 were from top managers.
