The experience of Electronic Arts in working with indie developers can be called successful so far. The experimental narrative game A Way Out by Josef Fares has been sold more than two million times.

This became known thanks to a tweet from Hazelight Studios, the studio where Fares is responsible for game development. Earlier, he made emotional statements about the industry and the Oscar.

To achieve such indicators, the game took almost a year and a half. It was released in March 2018. The key feature of the game is the linear structure of the game, if necessary, a network game. In other words, in order to complete the project, you need to play together.

A Way Out was published as part of the EA Originals program. The latter is aimed at supporting third-party creative projects from independent developers. Since this is largely an image initiative for EA, all the publisher’s profits from these games are sent to developers.

In addition to A Way Out, games such as Fe, Unravel and Sea of Solitude were released as part of the program. By the way, if we talk about PC, then you can’t find them on Steam. All of them are Origin exclusives.
