Last week, Japanese residents bought Xbox Series and consoles more often than PlayStation 5 consoles. According to Famitsu, 3,301 copies of the Xbox Series and 2,933 copies of the PlayStation 5 were bought in the country.
According to analysts, this is only the fourth time in history that the Xbox Series surpasses the PlayStation 5 in weekly sales in the Japanese market. The previous time it happened was in September 2022. The Xbox Series also sold better in May and June 2022.
However, both consoles are in much less demand in Japan than the Nintendo Switch. Weekly sales of the latter exceeded 66 thousand copies.
