Xbox consoles managed to beat PlayStation for weekly sales in Japan for the second time in a month and a half. According to Famitsu, last week the Japanese bought 6695 copies of the Xbox Series and 3035 copies of the PlayStation 5.

The last time Xbox pulled ahead was in mid—May, and before that, in 2014.

Probably, Xbox was able to succeed against the background of the ongoing shortage of Sony consoles. According to the Game Data Library, 235.5 thousand Xbox Series and 1.69 million PlayStation 5 have been sold in Japan to date.
