Mike Acton has announced his departure from Unity. He was responsible for the development of DOTS, a stack of information—oriented technologies.
Acton has worked at Unity for more than five years: he joined the company in the fall of 2017. Prior to that, Acton was the engine director at Insomniac Games for 11 years. The developer did not say why he decided to leave Unity (and whether it was his decision) and what he plans to do next.
Recall that at the beginning of the week it became known that Unity is conducting new massive cuts. She intends to lay off 600 people, which is about 8% of the entire staff of the company.
