Sources of The Wall Street Journal report that Unity is making new cuts. She decided to lay off 8% of the employees, or about 600 people.
If the newspaper’s information is correct, then this round of cuts was the third and largest for the company in the last 12 months. Recall that in January Unity laid off 284 people, and last June — at least 200 people. The reason for all the cuts was the problems in the global economy.
The Wall Street Journal also writes that Unity is going to close some offices over the next few years. Now it has 58 offices, and less than 30 will remain.
