The VG Insights service shared statistics on the geography of publishers on Steam. According to it, the USA is the unequivocal leader on the platform. Most publishers (24%) come from this country, and they account for a significant part of both revenue (39%) and the number of copies of games sold (48%).
There are also a lot of publishers from the UK (10%), Canada (7%) and Germany (7%) on Steam.
▫️90% of publishers’ revenue comes from eight countries. In addition to the USA, the top includes Japan, Great Britain, France, Sweden, Canada, Poland, China.
Over the past 12 months, the 250 largest publishers have generated 91% of all revenue. 69% of them are Americans. Nevertheless, the most earning publisher was the Japanese Bandai Namco, whose income exceeded $ 800 million.
