Last night, Ubisoft announced the postponement of the release date for Assassin’s Creed Shadows from November 15, 2024, to February 14, 2025. Simultaneously, they made several other announcements concerning the company's business.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

  • Ubisoft revised its financial forecast for the second quarter of the current fiscal year (July-September 2024). Now, it expects net bookings to be 350-370 million euros instead of 500 million euros.
  • Ubisoft also adjusted its forecast for the entire fiscal year ending March 31, 2025. The company now plans to achieve 1.95 billion euros in net bookings and break-even operating income. For comparison, last year Ubisoft closed with 2.32 billion euros in net bookings and 313.6 million euros in operating income.
  • The forecast was lowered due to the postponement of Assassin’s Creed Shadows and weak initial sales of Star Wars Outlaws.
  • The executive committee, under the Ubisoft board of directors, initiated an internal review of the company. The results of this review will help Ubisoft understand how to improve operations and become more efficient.
  • Development of open-world adventure games and the creation of live-service games will remain two key strategic directions for Ubisoft.
  • Starting with Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the company will release its games on Steam simultaneously with their release on Ubisoft Connect.
