Ubisoft has announced that its South Korean division will cease to exist after 22 years of operation in the country. The branch will close its doors on April 30, 2024.

Ubisoft explained that it was closing the division as part of a restructuring that started in January 2023.

The division was engaged in localization of Ubisoft games into Korean, their marketing and publication, and was also responsible for holding esports events in the country. Ubisoft stressed that even after the closure of the local branch, it will continue to release games in South Korea and hold competitions. Perhaps she will outsource these tasks.

The announcement of the closure of Ubisoft's Korean division came a week after mass layoffs in two other divisions of the company: global publishing and Asia-Pacific. Then Ubisoft cut 45 people.
