Many players noted that they did not expect a particularly good result from the project, but he managed to surprise. They praised the game for its fascinating narration, excellent music and high-quality optimization. Among the disadvantages, they called the annoying main character and difficulties with saving.
On Metacritic, the PC version of Atomic Heart received a score of 77 out of 100. On OpenCritic — 74 points out of 100.
