The Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection of Germany partially funded the development of a new game Black Forest Games. The studios were given a subsidy of €3.16 million.

The code name of the novelty is Super Shotgun. Its release should take place before May 2025, but neither the genre of the game is yet known, nor on which platforms it will be released.

Black Forest Games was noted for the games Fade to Silence, Destroy All Humans! (2020) and Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed. It was founded in 2012 and is now part of THQ Nordic, which, in turn, is part of the Embracer Group.

The subsidy for the development of Super Shotgun is one of the largest allocated by the German authorities. According to GamesWirtschaft, only two games received more money: Project Black from Fishlabs (€5.52 million) and WIKI6 from Piranha Bytes (€3.168 million).
