This is more than a quarter of the gaming industry’s revenue over the past year, according to Omdia analysts.
The analysts referred to gaming technologies as platforms and tools for the development, operation, monetization, protection and online distribution of video games.
In 2022, distribution has traditionally become the most monetary category in the gaming technology market. According to Omdia estimates, digital stores like Steam, Epic Games Store, PS Store, App Store have earned a total of $41 billion. The public version of the report does not specify exactly what amount fell on the other categories.
Omdia expects market revenue to grow by 42% to $88 billion by 2027.
