Jason Fung has left the post of head of the TikTok gaming division to found his own blockchain startup Meta0. The company will create a protocol for NFT games with support for different networks.
Meta0 has already closed the first round of funding. However, the amount of the attracted investments, as well as the names of other team members are not disclosed.
In an interview with Reuters, Fang said that the company intends to solve the infrastructural problem of the blockchain industry, which lies in its fragmentation. Now the developers of NFT games are forced to choose only one of the blockchains — Polygon, Solana, etc. Meta0 wants to provide them with more options.
To do this, the company is working on a protocol that will take advantage of several networks at once. It will be easier for players to transfer their NFTs between different blockchains.
Fang himself also does not share the current skepticism caused by the cryptocurrency crisis. He founded Meta0 because he wanted to take a chance and “leave his corporate life in the past.”
