On December 25, the Death Stranding distribution started in the Epic Games Store. At first, the site offered to pick up the director’s version of the game for free, but soon replaced it with the basic one. According to Epic Games, such confusion occurred through the fault of an intern.
The company apologized to the gamers and explained that the contract with the publisher Death Stranding concerned only the usual edition of the game, but before the start of the distribution, the intern mixed up the versions. Epic Games is currently discussing further actions with the publisher.
What awaits the intern now, Epic Games did not report.
Note that Epic Games has published an appeal only on Chinese Weibo. In other social networks, the company did not comment on the incident.
