The increasing control by the authorities will not prevent the growth of the Chinese gaming market, at least the mobile and PC segments. Analysts at Niko Partners shared a forecast according to which the total turnover of these segments will increase by 22% in five years.

They also pointed out that:

Last year, the Chinese mobile and PC games market earned $42.49 billion. In 2022, its turnover will be $47.73 billion;

In 2021, there were 703 million gamers in the country (3.7% less than a year earlier). In 2022, there will be a little less of them again — 692.4 million people, but by 2026 the number of gamers will still grow to 730.5 million people;

The ARPU will rise from $64.44 in 2021 to $75.6 in 2026.

Separately, analysts noted that 434 million esports fans now live in China. They did not say whether this number will change by 2026.
