Recently, the founder of GSC Game World*, Sergey Grigorovich, made a bold statement — Microsoft fully funded the development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chornobyl, providing even more money than needed. However, the studio itself refuted his claims.

In a conversation with Insider Gaming, official representatives of GSC Game World* stated that Grigorovich was not present at the deal with Microsoft and did not participate in the creation of the game, so he is unaware of all the details.
“His comments regarding the company's activities cannot be considered an accurate reflection of the actual situation,” the developers emphasized.
GSC Game World* added that the majority of the funding for the development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chornobyl was provided by the studio's co-owner, Maxim Krippa. The exact amount is not specified.
Grigorovich left the GSC Game World* team in 2023 after selling the studio to Krippa. He is currently planning to sue Krippa because, according to Grigorovich, he still hasn't received the full promised amount.
