A court in the United States imposed a temporary ban on the sale of Activision Blizzard to Microsoft. This was requested by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

The companies were banned from closing the deal at least until the end of the month. On June 22-23, the court will hold a hearing at the request of the FTC and, based on its outcome, will decide whether to extend the injunction.

A Microsoft representative told Bloomberg that the court’s actions were expected, and praised him for his promptness. Earlier, Microsoft President Brad Smith claimed that the FTC’s request would speed up the review of the transaction.
