There are 5 million gamers between the ages of 6 and 18 living in Japan, according to Niko Partners. According to the latest report of the analytical company, they are more interested in foreign titles than adult gamers and rarely use a PC for games.

Analysts called consoles the most popular gaming platform among young gamers. They are played by 72.3% of the surveyed youth. 63.5% of gamers play on mobile devices and only 14.7% — on PC.

▪️Young Japanese spend an average of 7.9 hours a week on mobile games. For games for consoles and PC — 6.5 hours a week.

Young people are much more receptive to games from foreign companies, esports, game streams and vitubers than gamers over the age of 18.

Parents are usually calm about the fact that their children are addicted to games. Analysts suggest that many of the parents they interviewed are gamers themselves.

66.9% of parents believe that the state and gaming companies should not decide how much time children can spend playing games. 45.8% of children agree with them.
