A court session was held in Tokyo, where the case of Yuji Naka, a game designer accused of insider trading in shares of Final Fantasy VII developers, was examined: The First Soldier. The former head of Sonic Team pleaded guilty.
Naka stated that “there is no doubt” that while working at Square Enix, he deliberately acquired shares of the Ateam studio before it announced the game.
What punishment Naka will suffer is not yet reported. It is also unknown whether another former Square Enix employee, Taisuke Sazaki, has pleaded guilty.
