Journalists from TechRaptor examined the rates for Gamescom 2024 and found out the cost of participating in the Opening Night Live ceremony, which kicks off the exhibition. Developers will have to shell out hundreds of thousands of euros to show their trailers.

The cost of slots depends on the length of the trailer. Below are the prices for showing videos in the main broadcast.
- 30 seconds – 115 thousand euros.
- One minute – 165 thousand euros.
- One and a half minutes – 215 thousand euros.
- Two minutes – 265 thousand euros.
Two years ago, prices were lower. For comparison, in 2022, a 30-second trailer would cost 85 thousand euros, and a two-minute trailer would cost 210 thousand euros.
However, participating in Gamescom is significantly cheaper for gaming companies than participating in Summer Game Fest. According to Esquire magazine, this year the organizers of Summer Game Fest charged 450 thousand dollars for a two-minute video.
The Opening Night Live ceremony, hosted by journalist and producer Geoff Keighley, will take place on August 20. The Gamescom exhibition itself starts the next day and runs until August 25.
