The gaming analytics market continues to undergo consolidation. Sensor Tower has announced the acquisition of the platform Video Game Insights (VG Insights).

The transaction amount and other financial details have not been disclosed.

VG Insights initially specialized in Steam game analytics, offering revenue estimates, wishlist counts, and other platform data. This year, the service also began analyzing console game metrics for PlayStation and Xbox.

The acquisition of VG Insights will allow Sensor Tower to expand its platform's capabilities beyond the mobile market. The primary goal of the deal is to strengthen the company's position in the gaming analytics market.

This is the second public M&A deal by Sensor Tower. Last year, the company acquired the competing platform data.ai, after which it laid off nearly half of the service's employees. Analyst Joost van Dreunen estimated the acquisition might have cost Sensor Tower $300 million.
