Recently, the analytical service Steam250 published a list of 250 games that were best received by Steam users in 2025. They assigned each game a score based on the number of reviews and approval rating.
Schedule I
The top includes games that had technically been available on Steam for a while, but their full release occurred only last year.
Notably, the top list is largely composed of indie games. Even the first place went to a project by an independent studio — it was Schedule I with a score of 6.02.
Here is how the top 10 highest-rated new releases of 2025 in Steam look according to Steam250:

A similar top list had been compiled slightly earlier by the SteamDB service, which also used its own formula to rank the games. In their list, the first place was taken by Deltarune with a rating of 97.11%.
