In his recent annual address to investors, Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella reflected on the year's outcomes in the corporation's gaming segment and shared its development strategy moving forward.
- Nadella noted that following the completion of the Activision Blizzard acquisition, hundreds of millions of new players have been integrated into Microsoft's gaming ecosystem.
- Moreover, Microsoft can now boast 20 franchises that have collectively generated over $1 billion throughout their history. These include titles from Candy Crush, Diablo, and Halo to Warcraft, Elder Scrolls, and Gears of War.
- Nadella also emphasized that the corporation is actively advancing its cloud gaming services. Specifically, it continues to innovate in Xbox Cloud Gaming, allowing gamers to access games “where, when, and how they want.”
- Finally, the CEO confirmed that Microsoft will "continue to release its content on new platforms." This year, it ported one of its projects from Xbox to Nintendo Switch and Sony PlayStation consoles for the first time. Among the first titles transferred were Pentiment, Hi-Fi RUSH, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves.
