There was information that at one time Activision Blizzard was negotiating the purchase of Dota 2. The deal did not take place. One of the reasons is that the parties did not agree on the price.

This was announced in his Weibo feed by Dong DC Kang, a former professional Dota 2 player, and now, as noted on the pages of the Jaxon portal, a legendary commentator.

However, it wasn’t just about different views on the value of the asset. During the negotiations, Activision Blizzard behaved very arrogantly towards Abdul Ismail, also known as IceFrog. This is the leading designer of Dota and Dota 2.

According to DC, Abdul was involved in discussing the value of the asset. That’s just Activision Blizzard was not ready to listen to suggestions from his side. The company as a whole behaved at the negotiating table as if it was already the boss here.

How much each of the parties estimated Dota 2, the post does not say.
