VR enthusiast Bradley Lynch discovered in the Steam database a mention of Waydroid — an open-source emulator that allows running Android applications on Linux devices. According to him, Valve may be working on adding Waydroid support to the portable PC Steam Deck.

Lynch noted that at the end of May, the hidden Waydroid application appeared in the Steam library — it can be seen through the SteamDB service.

On Reddit, it is also reported that recently Valve requested access to the Waydroid emulator repository on GitHub from its authors. It supposedly wanted to make some changes.

Neither Valve nor the authors of Waydroid have commented on the rumors.
