Bayonetta and NieR: Automata developers are not against collaborating with Microsoft again. According to blogger and insider eXtas1stv, citing its own sources, the Japanese studio Platinum Games asked the corporation to finance and publish its next game.
eXtas1stv does not know whether Microsoft has accepted the offer or not.
Platinum Games worked with Microsoft on the action-RPG Scalebound. After the cancellation of the game in 2017, the studio was on the verge of bankruptcy, but later was able to rectify the situation thanks to the successful release of NieR: Automata. In 2018, the developers said they did not want to depend on publishers, without ruling out that they would change their minds. Already this February, the studio’s management announced that they would not refuse to return to the development of Scalebound and are ready to discuss a deal with Microsoft.
