A representative of "Rostelecom" told the newspaper "Kommersant" that the company is interested in creating a Russian gaming console. They are considering its development "as a promising business direction."
Whether "Rostelecom" already has specific ideas is not mentioned. The company only noted that they want to use the "Aurora" operating system for the console.
According to "Kommersant," on July 12, representatives of "Rostelecom," along with other business representatives, participated in a meeting organized by the Department of Radio-Electronic Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation regarding the creation of the console. In addition to "Rostelecom," GS Nanotech, Fplus, "Beshtau," "Red Soft," VK, Lesta Games, as well as the associations APRIORI and RVI attended the meeting.
It is also reported that GS Nanotech is already ready to undertake the production of the console "of any complexity" if there is a customer. Another potential console manufacturer is the company "Beshtau." They plan to work on the electronics, while their partner DSTU University will handle the production of the enclosures and software. "Beshtau" and DSTU plan to present a console prototype in September.
