Empire of Sin

To recap, last week the Romeros shared that a certain publisher (speculated to be Microsoft) canceled funding for their unannounced shooter on Unreal Engine 5. Following this, reports emerged from laid-off employees of Romero Games, indicating that the studio had shut down the game and downsized the entire staff.

Currently, the developers have confirmed that layoffs at Romero Games did occur, but they do not signify a complete cessation of operations.

Moreover, there is a possibility to save the canceled game. According to the founders of Romero Games, they have already been approached by several publishers interested in the project, and the studio is now considering their proposals.
