The development of this game took nine months. Ubisoft expected the project to become the largest Metroidvania on the market and to be purchased millions of times in a short period.
This is reported by Insider Gaming. The publication also found out which projects the team from Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was allocated to after its disbandment:
- the majority of the team to Beyond Good and Evil 2;
- a dozen employees to Project Ovr, the new Ghost Recon;
- another dozen to Project Steambot, also known as Rayman Remake.
As we wrote earlier today, the team defended the project to management until the end and was eager to work on a sequel.
“The game was pitched in 2020. It had quite a clear pipeline—a luxury most Ubisoft teams cannot count on,” Insider Gaming quotes a developer.
