Pokémon Go came out six years ago and is still making great money. On average, a game about pocket monsters receives $ 1 billion per year, according to Sensor Tower analysts.
In the first quarter of 2022 alone, Pokémon Go earned $198.2 million, becoming the highest-grossing mobile AR game in the world. The revenue of its closest competitor — Dragon Quest Walk — amounted to $90.4 million.
Not counting Pokémon Go, so far only four games have managed to earn more than $6 billion. These are PUBG Mobile, Honor of Kings, Candy Crush Saga and Clash of Clans.
As for downloads, Pokémon GO has 678 million of them.
