Nishino reported that the total revenue from PlayStation 5 sales has reached $136 billion. This is significantly higher than the company's previous consoles.
For comparison, the original PlayStation earned Sony $24 billion, PlayStation 2 brought in $44 billion, PlayStation 3 generated $71 billion, and PlayStation 4 achieved $107 billion.
Recall that in the spring of 2024, Sony had already boasted that the PlayStation 5 had surpassed all its predecessors in terms of operational profit, which at that time was $10 billion. However, in terms of sales revenue, it was still trailing behind the PlayStation 4 then.
