According to news media App2Top, over 20 employees of Moon Active announced their job search on LinkedIn last week.

▫️The majority of them worked in the company's Lithuanian office (formerly known as Melsoft).

▫️Additionally, some employees from Poland, Armenia, Ukraine, Turkey, and Israel were also affected.

▫️There is no information on the actual number of layoffs.

▫️An anonymous post on the Glassdoor service openly describes the situation in January 2025 as "mass layoffs."

▫️Judging by the developers' profiles, many departments were affected by the layoffs. Among those who lost their jobs were marketers, scriptwriters, animators, testers, and artists. Few programmers and game designers were among those who updated their status on the social network.

It is likely that this is not the first round of layoffs at Moon Active recently. In June 2024, the publication dev.by reported that since the beginning of the year, Melsoft's staff in Lithuania had decreased by 16%.

Moon Active acquired Melsoft for an undisclosed amount in 2020. The studio reached its earnings peak in 2023. By the end of 2023, user spending in its games had reached $1 billion.

Originally a Belarusian studio, Melsoft is known for games such as Family Island, My Cafe, Toy Defense, and Farm Frenzy. As for the Israeli Moon Active, its major blockbuster is Coin Master, whose mobile revenue is currently nearing the $5 billion mark.
