Chinese company Perfect World conducted large-scale layoffs. According to the newspaper The Paper, it laid off several hundred people due to financial issues—by the end of 2023, its net profit fell by 64.31%.

It is reported that the layoffs affected all divisions of Perfect World, except for the esports division.
Sources of The Paper also claim that the company has halted further development of the games Perfect New World and One Punch Man: World.
In response to The Paper's inquiry, the Perfect World press service denied reports of freezing Perfect New World and One Punch Man: World but confirmed that there have been "personnel changes" in the company. The scale of the layoffs was not disclosed.
