In March last year, Russian IT companies were allowed to temporarily not pay income tax. This benefit should cease to be valid on December 31, 2024, but recently the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation proposed to make it indefinite.

According to Vedomosti, the ministry sent a letter with such a proposal to the plenipotentiary representative of the government in the State Duma, Alexander Sinenko.

Earlier, several large Russian software developer associations appealed to the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation with a request to make the zero income tax rate indefinite or permanently return to the 3% rate. They were afraid that after 2024 the rate would rise to 20%, which it was until 2020.
