The highest-grossing game on the Steam platform last week, without discounts on monetization types, was Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. During the period from February 4 to 11, the game by Daniel Vavra surpassed Counter-Strike 2 in revenue.
Recall that a week ago, the game formally topped the chart. When considering free-to-play products, it ranked second in sales. It managed to solidify its position thanks to excellent word of mouth: judging by the reviews (90% of reviews are positive), players are thrilled with the game by Czech developers.
Sid Meier’s Civilization VII held third place in the overall top rankings and second place excluding free-to-play products. The cold reception from the community (only 52% positive reviews) did not hinder the title from rising in both sales and online presence (peaking at 61,000 simultaneous players).
When discussing the initial sales of the new "Civilization" entry, it's important to note that the game officially went on sale only today, February 11. However, owners of the premium editions (there are two, one priced at $100, and the other at $130) could begin playing a week before the global launch. Considering the significant pre-release online presence, it can be assumed that a substantial portion of the copies sold last week were premium editions.
Speaking of strengthened positions in the top rankings, the increase in Monster Hunter Wilds sales is notable. The game is scheduled for launch on February 28, but amid the open beta, it has already broken into Steam's top-5 in sales (third place excluding free-to-play, fourth with it).
Helldivers 2 has returned to the top ten highest-grossing games on Steam after a long absence. The return was primarily due to the distribution of in-game gifts timed to the first anniversary of the title — the game was released on February 8, 2024.
Destiny 2 also made it into the overall top 10. LiveOps played a crucial role here. The game received a new episode, Heresy, with new activities, weapons, gear, class changes, and a new location.
