Social gaming giant King has announced the closure of five of its projects next month. The company intends to limit the size of the portfolio in favor of more successful titles.
Obviously, King, following EA and Zynga, chose a new course: abandoning projects with low profitability. The following projects fell under the “reduction”: Bubble Saga, Hoop de Loop Saga, Puzzle Saga, Miner Speed and King Gold Games.
“This applies to games with fewer players; some of them were early versions of the hyper-popular Saga model, which has been developed at King for the past two years,” representatives of the company explained in an interview with GamesIndustry International.
As we have already reported, in June King completely abandoned in-game advertising in its hit Candy Crush Saga. This was done so that “the process of entertaining dedicated players would be continuous.” There are also rumors that the company is preparing for an IPO.
