Information has been confirmed regarding significant changes affecting Albert Zhiltsov's plot-based project about a Martian invasion of Tsarist Russia.
"War of the Worlds: Siberia" is no longer an asset of 1C Game Studios. Its development team, taking the game with them, has formed the independent Russian studio, MGLA.
The team insists on their independent status. In the official announcement, they emphasize that the new studio's owners are its employees.
"We wanted it to be bold enough," explains Zhiltsov, who became the CEO of the new company, regarding the chosen name.
It is also confirmed that MGLA studio is now developing "War of the Worlds: Siberia" in partnership with "Plus Studio," the production center of "Yandex."
Speaking about how the new partnership will impact the project's development, Zhiltsov highlighted the expansion of marketing efforts: "There will be more high-quality materials from the game's universe. The authors will share more about themselves, their work, and the game."
Currently, the project employs 79 people, who were previously responsible for it under the roof of 1C Game Studios. Meanwhile, the team is opening up recruitment. They plan to increase the studio's workforce to 150 specialists.
