The ways to top up your Steam wallet have expanded. The gaming platform VK Play announced the launch of this service.

With VK Play, funds can be transferred to the balance of Steam accounts registered in Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. This option is available to holders of ruble cards from Russian banks.

According to VK Play, they do not charge a fee for replenishing the Steam wallet. However, due to currency conversion by banks [in accordance with Steam’s rules, banks convert rubles to dollars, and then Steam converts the money back to rubles or another currency — ed. note] less money will be credited to the wallet than was sent. On average, 7-12% is lost due to conversion costs.

Previously, VK announced plans to make VK Play a "single entry point" for Russian gamers. As part of this strategy, at the beginning of August, the platform released several thousand Steam game keys for sale.
