According to the local Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Spain will become the first European country to start controlling loot boxes at the legislative level. However, we note that the problem of loot boxes is also concerned in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and a number of other states.
According to the Spaniards, the new law will help protect gamers from “thoughtless, compulsive or even pathological” behavior. What exactly the officials will do for this is not specified.
