The funds were allocated for advertising both games and non-gaming applications.
Athena: Blood Twins
These insights were shared by VK, which noted that foreign developers have significantly increased their advertising investments in RuStore: their spending in 2024 was nearly five times less.
Among the foreign developers, teams from China invested the most money in promotion within the Russian store. According to VK's estimates, they accounted for 70% of all foreign advertising investments over the past two years. Partly because of this, Chinese projects are currently demonstrating excellent results in RuStore. For instance, in 2025, the total revenue of applications and games developed in China grew 18 times compared to 2024. Moreover, the Chinese MMORPG Athena: Blood Twins became the highest-grossing foreign game in RuStore last year.
VK also mentioned that in 2025, developers from Singapore ranked among the top five advertisers in RuStore by spend, though it didn’t disclose their exact share. VK also did not specify which other countries’ teams are included in this top group.
Separately, VK highlighted Russian developers. According to the company’s estimates, in 2025 they spent twice as much on promoting their projects in RuStore compared to the previous year. Similarly, the advertising expenses of companies from other CIS countries have also doubled.
